Round 8

Children will sit together for all rounds and be encouraged to consult one another before recording their answers.

Some  questions will be framed in a humorous way so as to add to the children’s (and accompanying adults’) enjoyment.

Bible Scavenger Hunt

Each team will be given a page containing ten clues and a copy of The Catholic Children’s Bible produced by St. Mary’s Press, and approved for use in Catholic Schools by the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

To follow up on five of the clues the children will need to be able to  look up bible references.  These will be limited to:  The Book of Genesis, 1 Samuel, Baruch, Luke’s Gospel and The Acts of the Apostles.

To follow up on the remaining five clues the children will need to think about their local church, explore the building they are in and examine a poster that will be on display.

Tips will be given if required … we want the children to enjoy the experience!

In addition to trophies for teams that come First, Second and Third, medals will also be presented to all remaining teams members.

Qualification

A qualifying quiz (with an answer sheet) will be forwarded to an Adult Leader of all interested clubs.

Every team that gets a result of 60% will be deemed to have qualified for the All-Ireland final.

Teams may repeat the quiz if necessary … if the children are eager to participate.

Prize-giving Ceremony

This will take place immediately after Mass.

In preparation the children may like to visit some of the bible stories they engaged with during club time as bed-time reading.
